Privacy policy
WeGo is a place for drives, garages, and clubs in the UAE. This page says what the app stores, why, and how you delete it. WeGo does not sell personal information and does not show ads.
Information you give us
- Your name, handle, bio, and city, if you add them.
- Your phone number and email, only when you ask for a sign-in code. The code is sent to that email or WhatsApp number.
- Photos, captions, and text you choose to post, plus the club audience you pick.
- Messages you send, clubs you create, cars in your garage, drives, and routes.
- The account code in Settings → Another phone, which lets a second phone open the same account.
Location
Location stays off until you turn on “Others can see me” on a drive you joined. While that drive is open, people on the convoy can see your place on the map and your speed. The distance you have driven stays on your phone. It stops when you turn it off or leave the drive. The friends map is separate: if you turn sharing on, your live position updates on OpenStreetMap while WeGo is open, for Close Friends or people you follow. It stops when you turn it off or leave the app. WeGo does not collect location in the background.
Notifications
Notifications stay off until you turn them on in Settings. If you do, this browser’s notification subscription is stored so a new message can reach you when WeGo is closed. You can turn this off in Settings.
Place search
When you search for a stop, the words you type are sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to find places in the UAE. WeGo also keeps a short list of known areas on the phone.
Where it is stored
A copy stays on this phone. If you sign in, or you use Another phone, a copy is also stored on the WeGo server so that phone can load your garage, drives, clubs, and posts. WhatsApp opens only when you tap share or invite, and that message is handled by WhatsApp.
How long we keep reports
If you report a post or a person, or you block someone, WeGo keeps the report (the kind of report, the handle, and the time) so the rules can be enforced. The report does not include your photos. Those records can remain after you delete your account.
Delete your account
In the app, open Settings → Delete account. On the web, use the delete page. Deletion removes the account on this phone and the server copy opened with your account code, including posts, messages, the garage, clubs, and drives. It is not a freeze. You can also read the terms.
Age
WeGo is for people who are 18 or older. It is not directed at children.
